The beautiful pattern of the Pietersite creates an exciting contrast to the very geometric shape of the gold-plated setting.
Size of the gemstone pendant approx. 5.5 x 2.7 cm.
The rectangular cabochon is approx. 35 x 25mm in size, stone weight Pietersite approx. 68ct.
The bezel setting and eyelet (inner diameter 5mm) are made of highly polished, gold-plated silver 925; silver weight 2.75g.
Pietersite, also known as storm stone, is valued in analytical gemstone healing according to Michael Gienger, as the gemstone helps to keep a cool head, process impressions more quickly and overcome conflicts.
Pietersite was first discovered in 1962 by mineral dealer Sidney "Sid" Pieters in Namibia (then South West Africa); the stone is named after him. The spelling Petersite, Pieterisite or Pietersiet is therefore incorrect.
