Zeolite with a difference!
Natrolite is a common mineral from the zeolite group. Under normal circumstances, Natrolites form white or light gray crystal clusters. In the south of Java (Indonesia), lava fissures were filled with iron-rich Natrolite millions of years ago. This is how the extremely rare pink-colored, compact Natrolite from which the cabochon for this pendant was created.
Examination at the Gemstone Testing Institute (EPI) revealed that the material consists of around 90% Natrolite and around 10% Thomsonite, another zeolite. The name pink Larimar found in the trade is misleading and mineralogically incorrect.
The setting and eyelet of the drop pendant are made of rhodiniert 925 silver.
Size of the cabochon 35 x 20mm, size of the pendant 4.8 x 2.1cm. Inner diameter of the eyelet 4mm.
Stone weight Natrolite 22.50 ct, silver weight 5.4 g.
