Natrolite pendant, round (25mm), 4.0cm, platinum plated

An absolute rarity as a design pendant: the Zeoliht variety pink Natrolite!

In Java (Indonesia) on the island of Nusa Kambangan, lava fissures were filled with ferrous Natrolite millions of years ago. This is how the extremely rare pink-colored, compact Natrolite, from which the beautiful cabochon for this fine piece of jewelry was cut, was created.

Size of the frame-set Natrolite cabochon 25mm, size of the pendant incl. eyelet 4.0 x 3.1cm. Inner diameter of the eyelet 5mm. The eyelet and setting are made of highly polished, platinum-coated 925 silver.

The name Natrolite is made up of the word "Natron" and the Greek word "lithos" (stone). Synonyms for Natrolite are apoanalcite, brevicite, cockalite, crocalite, epinatrolite, höganite, lehuntite and sodium mesotype. The name pink Larimar, which is occasionally found in the trade, is misleading and mineralogically incorrect.
