Classic Shattuckite pendant with a very decorative eyelet!
Size of the design pendant approx. 4.2 x 2.1 cm.
The drop-shaped cabochon made of Shattuckite is approx. 32 x 20mm in size; Shattuckite stone weight approx. 50ct.
The setting and eyelet (inner diameter 3mm) are made of highly polished, platinum-plated silver 925.
The first localities of the mineral was the Shattuck Mine near Bisbee (Arizona, USA), the first description was made in 1915 by the mineralogist and geologist Waldemar Theodore Schaller (1882 - 1967). Schaller then named the newly discovered mineral after the type locality, i.e. the first Localities. Spellings such as shattuckite, shattukite, shattukite or shatukite are therefore incorrect.
As it often contains three other minerals such as quartz, Malachite and chrysocolla in addition to Shattuckite, the stone is also referred to as Quantum Quattro in esoteric literature from the English-speaking world.
