Heavy silver ring with faceted black Spinel; stone diameter 6mm
Material: Silver 925, rhodiniert
Ring size: 57, width of the ring band 11mm
There are two theories for the origin of the name Spinel: Spinel is either derived from the Greek "spin(n)os" (to sparkle) or from the Latin "spinella" (small thorn). Various spellings of the mineral have been used in Europe since the 16th century, e.g. Spynell, Spinella and Spinellus. Today the spelling Spinel is common, occasionally also Spinnell can be found.
