Unusual stone, unusual setting - this ring combines the elemental force of nature with creative design!
The Indonesian Garut stone is a very special Petrified Wood: the original organic substance has not only been replaced by jasper, as is usually the case, but also by Opalite.
The rectangular cabochon made of garut stone measures 20 x 15mm, weighs 10.2ct and is set in a frame. Each stone is unique in its color and grain.
The bezel setting and ring band are made from highly polished, rhodiniert 925 silver; silver weight 3.94g.
Ring dimensions: 23 x 21mm, ring size 20 (60).
Mineralogically, the Garut stone is a wood opal, also known as opal wood or wood opal. Both opal-like quartz and fine crystalline quartz can be found. The unusually colored Petrified Wood usually shows contrasting patterns with green, brown and reddish hues.
Garut stone is found in the mountains of Garut in the west of Java (Indonesia). The wood is laboriously extracted by hand from a volcanic rock and is much rarer than the wood from West Java, Madagascar and the USA!

Hello! My name is Marco Schreier, I am the stone-loving founder of the Mineralienhandlung GmbH of the same name. My career in the field of gemstones, precious stones, pearls and designer jewelry only began relatively late.
Originally, my attention was focused on collector's minerals, then on polished stone products such as tumbled stones, etc. Later, drilled stones were added, which, worn on a leather strap, were the first jewelry we offered.
