The ginkgo or ginkgo is cultivated in East Asia both for its nutritious seeds and as a temple tree. At the turn of the millennium, the German "Tree of the Year Board of Trustees" declared Ginkgo biloba a memorial for environmental protection and peace and the tree of the millennium. Jewelry with the leaf of the ginkgo tree therefore has great symbolic power.
The name ginkgo is a combination of the characters "gin" for silver and "kyo" for apricot and refers to the silvery shimmering seeds of the plant. Therefore, the spelling gingo, gingo leaf or gingo tree, which can also be found, is not correct.

Hello! My name is Marco Schreier, I am the stone-loving founder of the Mineralienhandlung GmbH of the same name. My career in the field of gemstones, precious stones, pearls and designer jewelry only began relatively late.
