Ammolite drop earrings (9mm) colorful, 3.2cm, platinum plated

The opalescent cabochons made of Canadian Ammolite are approx. 9 x 7mm in size and weigh 4ct.

Including the Ear Hook, the ammolite earrings are 3.2 cm in size.

Silver weight of ammolite earrings 2.4g; setting and Ear Hook are made of platinum-plated silver 925.

Localities: St. Mary Rivers near Lethbridge in southwestern Alberta (Canada).
Occurrence: Cretaceous period

Ammolite is the trade name for the gemstone quality of a colorful, iridescent fossil shell of two ammonites: Placenticeras meeki and Placenticeras intercalare. The gemstone consists of the finest aragonite platelets, which produce the bright colors through interference of light.

To protect the sensitive surface of the Ammolite, it has been sealed with acrylic.
