Not every bead is ready to knot immediately. If the drill holes are too narrow or sharp-edged, a reamer helps to protect the thread. After processing the drill hole, the thread glides better, knots can be tightened cleanly and the chain is much more durable.
The set includes a wooden handle and an awl for large and small beads.
Length of the wooden handle approx. 10 cm.
Practical applications for the reamers when Bead stringing:
+ Cleaning the bead holes; removes drilling dust, splinters or other residues (as far as the awl reaches into the drill hole; if necessary, insert into the bead from both sides).
+ Smoothing sharp edges at the edges of the drill hole; prevents the thread from chafing or breaking
Caution:
Reamers must not be bent back and forth, as they can then break quickly. To deburr the hole, insert the reamer vertically into the hole and turn it to the right or left with slight pressure. Take care not to bend the reamer.
