A natural work of art: banded agate lace with crystal turf!

Size of the gemstone point approx. 14cm, weight approx. 0.49kg.

This Point clearly shows the history of the formation of Agate: Agate forms in volcanic rocks after they have cooled down. Liquid volcanic rock contains gases that form air bubbles of different sizes. Water containing silica penetrates these bubbles. Gradually, this solidifies and dries out. One layer after the next is deposited, resulting in the many stripes and other patterns in Agate.
