In Chinese tradition, the turtle represents the north, yin energy, the night and peace and regeneration. In other traditions, the tortoise appears as a great helper. It is said to have helped the first Chinese emperor to tame the Yellow River. Its real longevity also makes it the ideal symbol for a long and healthy life - a wonderful gemstone gift!
