It is found in the Banten Forest in western Java, in the area of a former gold mine. Although the mine is now closed, banded rough stones continue to be painstakingly extracted by hand there. The differently colored bands are formed by silicate deposits with varying iron content. Sunset Jasper is thus one of the classic Jasper (Landscape) stones. Each stone displays its own unique interplay of colors, lines, and natural structures. Ocelot Jasper from Central Java Green Ocelot Jasper is found in the region around Purbalingga in Central Java. It owes its name to its striking pattern, which is partly reminiscent of a wildcat’s coat. The source is an alluvial deposit: the rock is naturally transported by rivers from its original site of formation and eventually deposited. During sand extraction, the rough jasper stones are brought up from the river along with the sand and then collected individually. Only sufficiently durable material survives this natural transport process. The selected rough stones are then tumbled, cut, and polished.

Maligano jasper – Exceptional Breccia Jasper from Sulawesi Maligano jasper was first discovered around 2011 near the town of Maligano on Sulawesi. It is characterized by its exceptional pattern of multicolored rock fragments.

Yellow, orange, red, and pink sections are interwoven with white, gray, or black quartz. This contributes to the distinctive appearance of a brecciated jasper. No two stones are alike—it is precisely this diversity that makes Maligano jasper appealing for jewelry and decorative gemstone products.
