Barite from the now closed Dreislar pit in Sauerland - an absolute rarity!
The Smooth Stones are approx. 2.5 - 3.5cm in diameter and with a thickness of about 8 - 9mm ideally suited as a hand caress or for laying on.
Per packaging unit (VE) with 0.5kg you get about 28 - 32 flat Smooth Stones.
The mineral Barite received its name after the Greek word barýs (heavy); the occasional spellings Barit, Baryth, Barite or Bariet, which can be found in retail and wholesale trade, are therefore not correct. Also the mining name "barite" points to the high density of 4.5 g/sq. cm.
