A rarity from Altenberg in the Ore Mountains (Saxony, Germany) - mining has been closed since 1991.
Pycnite is a stalked variety of topaz, characterized by its yellow crystals. These often grow together in bundles or clusters and form an attractive contrast to the white-grey quartz and black zinnwaldite (lithium mica). .
The only synonym currently known is stem topaz.
Size of the cross-drilled flat freeforms approx. 45 - 50mm, diameter of the hole approx. 2.8mm. Mixed shapes and veining.

Hello! My name is Marco Schreier, I am the stone-loving founder of the Mineralienhandlung GmbH of the same name. My career in the field of gemstones, precious stones, pearls and designer jewelry only began relatively late.
Originally, my attention was focused on collector's minerals, then on polished stone products such as tumbled stones, etc. Later, drilled stones were added, which, worn on a leather strap, were the first jewelry we offered. With the establishment of our office in Bali, Indonesia in 2001 and shortly afterwards our office and company in Hong Kong, I created the basis for integrating many of my favorites such as special crystals, specially cut, rare gemstones, free-form cabochons, beads and pearls into my own jewelry.
