Intense Turquoise-blue beads of Atacamaopal were threaded onto Elastic Cord for this gemstone bracelet.
The beads are between 10.5 and 11mm in size; beads of the same size were selected for each bracelet. Length of the bead bracelet approx. 19cm.
Atacama Opal is an Opalite-Chrysocoll-Chalcedony mixture whose intense green-blue color is caused by Copper. At the localities where the rough is found (near Copiapó and Paipote in the Región de Atacama, northern Chile), the stone is referred to as Atacama Opal or Atacama Opalite; this name has also become established in the international mineral trade.
