The antimonite crystals were found in Jiangxi province in south-eastern China.
Size approx. 5 - 7 cm.

Antimonite was already known in ancient Egypt in the 3rd millennium BC as well as in antiquity and was used to darken the rims of the eyes - this was considered both an ideal of beauty and a means of defense. The fascination of the silvery, shiny mineral has survived to this day.
