Powerful, faceted amazonite strand made of rectangles - very elegant as a necklace with silver elements!
The flat rectangles of Amazonite are approx. 10 x 8mm in size and faceted on both sides. Length of the necklace strand approx. 39cm.
The use of Amazonite goes back to the ancient Egyptians, who made amulets, inlays and beads from this stone as early as 5000 BC. The famous death mask of Tutankhamun contains Amazonite as well as lapis lazuli, carnelian and quartz.
The mineral got its name from the Amazon River or the Amazon people. Synonyms for Amazonite are Amazon ashlar, Amazon stone, Amazon jade, green Feldspar, Crimean Feldspar.
