Very elegant gemstone necklace with a great color contrast of black Spinel and colorful Ammolite!
The faceted beads of black Spinel are threaded onto steel wire; the center of the Spinel necklace is formed by a colourful, iridescent Ammolite. Different shapes and colors of Ammolite are possible; however, you will always receive an Ammolite of the same quality as in the necklace shown.
Length of the design necklace approx. 44 cm plus 6 cm extension chain made of rhodiniert silver 925; silver weight approx. 2.9 g.
Size of the freeform Ammolite approx. 13 x 11mm, stone weight Ammolite 4.2ct. Size of the faceted Spinels approx. 4mm, stone weight 57.95ct.
Localities of the Ammolite: St. Mary River near Lethbridge in southwestern Alberta (Canada).
Occurrence: Cretaceous period
Ammolite is the trade name for the gem quality of a colorful, iridescent fossil shell of two ammonites: Placenticeras meeki and Placenticeras intercalare. The gemstone consists of the finest aragonite platelets, which produce the bright colors through interference of light.
To protect the sensitive surface of the Ammolite, it has been sealed with acrylic.
