Each features a round nephrite cabochon with a diameter of 10 mm, whose natural green color is beautifully accentuated by the cool, lustrous rhodiniert 925 silver. The nephrite cabochons are set on a silver plate. Thanks to their minimalist design, these Nephrite earstuds can be paired in many ways and complement both classic and modern gemstone jewelry. Silver weight: approx. 0.8 g Origin of nephrite rough stone: Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia Crafted in: Indonesia Nephrite Jade from Aceh on Sumatra The rough stone for these earstuds comes from Aceh in the north of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. In this remote region, natural Nephrite boulders are found in areas such as those surrounding the Dare River. Individual raw blocks can weigh between one and two metric tons. Since many of the sites are barely accessible by vehicle, large blocks are sometimes broken up by hand right on site. Smaller pieces are carried through the rugged terrain and then transported further by motorcycle. Its unique origin in the pristine landscape of Aceh and the fact that it is mined by hand make this nephrite jade a gemstone with an extraordinary history.
